Margarita (Peggy) was married to Stephen Van Rensselaer III. She had three children but only one survived to adulthood. Her parents were the famous Continental Army general, Philip Schuyler (1733-1804) and Catherine Van Rensselaer (1734-1803). Her siblings were Angelica Schuyler Church, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, and Philip Jeremiah Schuyler. Other family members were John Barker Church and Alexander Hamilton, two of her brothers-in-law.
