Marquis de Lafayette is introduced for the second time in the musical and traces a route to cut off British forces. He also convinces Washington to offer Hamilton the command he has requested for so long. Washington reluctantly agrees and calls Hamilton back into the army, giving him the command and letting him lead the American forces.
